Earth Friendly Fashion
Fashion Week may have come and gone in New York , but green fashion is a year-round pursuit. The stylish bloggers over at Ecorazzi recently wrote about the “Pick Your Cotton Carefully” campaign.
Picture twenty supermodels in eco-friendly t-shirts.
Want to hear more? Top designers have created shirts made from organic, fairly traded cotton as part of a project with the Environmental Justice Foundation and the models will be photographed in the T-shirts to promote the campaign.
You can buy these shirts on the EJF website. Past supporters have included KT Tunstall, who you can check out in the video section of the MTV SWITCH site to see her Global Cool interview!

Solar Energy

You can save on energy and never run out of power for your mp3 player or cell phone. This portable solar panel can be used to power small electronic devices, so anywhere there's sun is a place to recharge. If that's not a great excuse to stay at the beach another hour, I don't know what is.
And if you don't want to spring for the mini solar panel, just use a bottle of gatorade and an onion. Don't believe me? Check out this YouTube video.

Eco-Chic Starter Furniture
No matter how small your shoe box of a first apartment may be, it still can look empty without furniture. Making the space yours on a tight budget can be accomplished with green furniture. There are a number of cheap, stylish, and comfortable options.
You can always check Craigslist or ask friends for unused furniture. There are great pieces available for free or close to free, which can be recovered or refinished as desired. Plus, reusing furniture is definitely one of the greenest options. If you can’t quite find what you want or need on the barter market, it's time to expand your search.
IKEA – Known for its modern look and good deals, IKEA is a great place for affordable furniture and they have a number of green options, such as their TRABY line.
Cardboard Design – That's right , you can get cheap, sturdy furniture that is completely made out of recycled cardboard. It’s attractive too.
Bamboo Hardwoods – Bamboo is a great renewable material that is used to create inexpensive furniture with lots of personality. You can even get a bamboo mini-bar.

Amazon's Nifty E-Book
You may not get to show off your sweet book collection, but knowledge is more impressive than the paper it's written upon.
Amazon's Kindle, measuring 19 cm. x 13.5 cm. and less than an inch thick, is a milestone in the literary world's path toward becoming more enviromentally conscious. For those skeptical of the Kindle's ability to replicate the experience of getting cozy with a book, its electronic paper display almost precisely mimics light reflection of actual paper, and it even has a backlight so you can read it in the dark, additionally conserving the energy otherwise emitted from a lightbulb.
If fiction isn't your first choice, it has a wireless network for accessing Wikipedia, The Onion, and your favorite blogs. Not to mention that it looks a lot cooler sliding it in your pocket than lugging around a backpack full of books.

Eco-Fashion
Mixing bamboo and cotton with a touch of cashmere to make the shirt comfy, a French company called Bluebreztel is changing the T-shirt with a production process that’s environmentally friendly. The best part? They use a process that picks out dye colors from famous images, so your color choices are things like the brown from the eyes of the Mona Lisa or the blue of the ocean. Great color and the latest in eco-chic. Everyone needs T-shirts, right?

Green Cards
This website has the coolest business cards ever! Now that’s how to wow job contacts. I particularly like the card that has a seed in it and grows.
And for all other plantable paper needs, Botanical Paperworks is a fun site. Seeds are woven into the paper so you can do things like plant pages of past months from your calendar…and they bloom.
Awesome!

Reusable Bags
Going shopping this holiday season, I’m so going to use these new bags. Instead of getting lots of plastic bags along with purchases, Flip and Tumble sells reusable totes in green, blue, black, and tan. And these tote bags can be scrunched into the size of a tennis ball, making them perfect for throwing at friends.
For another stylish bag, check out this Anya Hindmarch eco-tote with embroidery saying “I am not a plastic bag.” This bag has become a must have accessory and has been spotted being used by stars like Keira Knightley and Reese Witherspoon.
